It's smart to explore 2-3 nearby attractions each day in Nagoya. The spots are spread out, so this helps you make the most of your time. You can spend more time enjoying the sights, instead of being on the road.

Nagoya is located between Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. All Shinkansen trains on this route stop here.

It is also a must-pass stop on the way to Takayama and Shirakawa-go. The journey from Nagoya to Takayama takes about 2.5 hours.

Although Nagoya has Chubu Centrair International Airport, we don't recommend flying directly from your country to Nagoya. There are only a few international flights, and most of them require a transfer in Tokyo.

The Higashiyama Line is the most important subway line for travelers. It connects major spots in Nagoya, including Nagoya Station and the main shopping area of Sakae.

For easy access to Nagoya's main attractions, it is best to stay near Nagoya Station. It is the city's main transport hub. From here, you can easily get around Nagoya or travel to other cities.

We recommend using a private car in Nagoya. This lets you go directly to each attraction, saving travel time and avoiding the hassle of navigating subway stations.
